The Challenge

Someone calls wanting “a rough number,” the contractor drives out or spends 20 minutes on the phone, works up an estimate, and never hears back. The price was double what the caller imagined, and there was no way to know that before investing the time.
Multiply that by every tire-kicker in a week and it adds up to hours of unpaid estimating work. Our client, a local fence contractor, wanted those hours back without turning away real customers.
What We Did
We built them a custom estimator tool called Draw My Fence.
It works the way it sounds. A customer opens the tool, draws their fence line on a map of their property, picks their fence type, and gets instant pricing. No waiting for a callback, no site visit, no phone tag. In a few minutes they know roughly what their project costs.
That instant answer does two jobs at once:
It serves the customer. People want a ballpark number before they talk to anyone. The tool gives it to them immediately, which makes the contractor the easiest company in the market to get a straight answer from.
It qualifies the lead. By the time someone submits a quote request through the tool, they’ve seen the pricing and they’re still interested. The people who just wanted a rough number got one without costing the contractor a minute. The people who reach out are the ones ready to move forward.
We built the tool with AI-assisted development, which let us go from concept to a working product in a fraction of the usual time. Product decisions, pricing logic, and design stayed with us and the contractor. AI handled the code.
